My Cat

I got Binx in July 2001, when he was a little kitten. He is a grey
tabby tom cat of the 'general moggy' variety. (although I am led to
believe that he has some Burmese in him. He has the typical 'pointed
face', long limbs and is extremely vocal)
I don't know why I named him Binx, but it seems to suit him!!
When he was a kitten, he was 'all eyes and ears'!! I thought he might
grow into his bat-like appendages, but they just seemed to grow with
him!
Binx started off as a house cat,
not being allowed outside, due to his eagerness to make new friends in
the increasingly dodgy area I was living in at the time. I thought he
would be an 'easy target' for the nasty neighbourhood kids that
terrorized the people in my street!
We eventually moved to a much nicer neighbourhood, and Binx ventured
into the outside world. He loves the fresh air and the garden,
especially at dusk, when he has become quite adept at catching
unsuspecting moths that flit too close!
He has tried making friends with
one or two neighbouring cats, but this has been met with indifference
(from Bella - a complete snob of the feline variety!) or the odd cuff
round the ear (from a big bully of a grey Tom!). This hasn't
discouraged Binx though!
Binx (like his owner) has a
fondness for sparkly things, and loves to play with a silver fairies
wand!!. He is also rather keen on chasing the light from a
lazerpointer. (Although, he hasn't worked out how to catch it yet!)
He also loves to get into boxes and bags.
Unlike
most cats, Binx isn't too worried about getting wet, and proves this by
reaching into the water to catch my toes when I am trying to soak in
the bath. Of course, this makes it much easier to wash him regularly,
as he doesn't struggle to run away when he is under the shower!
Binx's favourite pastime has to
be sleeping. Binx will sleep anywhere - on comfortable chairs, in the
sunshine, on laps, on tables, in sinks - Anywhere!
